Sometimes things just happen while clearing up, finding bits and pieces, reading old notebooks.
The poem starts in the top left corner and ends next to the photo, hard to read but perhaps that is not needed.
Als je Nederlands spreekt dan kan je elk woord lezen.

leaf collage

Some experiments in making collages.

leaf3

its all within the eye

Its made with the help of a desktop publishing program.

The photo was made very pale as if suffered from the flu or so.

leafdust

You cut and paste and cut some more.

Not even sure where it will go.

Leafy photos made different to create the impression of a totally new forest erasing the old.

Slide two

Going from a poem inside the drop towards the conversation on the ground.

LandArt

As there is not much more to say i share some great sites to explore:

n359_w1150

The idea is not new but old, planting a garden is art, illustrating that garden is art, telling stories about that garden is art, taking a photo of that garden is art, hiding in that garden is art.

First slide

Wooowyyy it is done. The slide show is finished and the text is send for translation into Portuguese.
The slide will also form the pages of a booklet with additional information.
The website has been updated and the Land Art Forest is life, the first person stands on the list.

The hardest was to shift through  all them photos and than to find the words with it. The slides will be shared here so yours all can be a part of it even if you are on the other site of the world.
Each week one slide will be shown here:

slide1poem

to start with

It is a photo from Almond blossom with the reflection of the Almond tree in the raindrop.
You might recognise the words.

DabeArt

BackGround

Something a bit different.

In the progress of making a slideshow for the exhibition, sort of powerpoint. The slides are made with photos and text and at times there is a need for some neutral background instead of blinding white.

SO

slidebackgroundB&W

The camera became a paintbrush with at times good results even from the 230 shots just 5 are suitable.

slidebackgroundpurpleandgreen

Fading colours with a high iso

slidebackgroundrainbow

Rainbow effect with water

slidesquare

dropwindow

OK this is not what was expected but what the eyes see the camera shall capture

the beauty being self employed no boss tells you that was not your task, or job description for today nor quality controle

no excuses needed

Paper

The ideas around the exhibition taking more shape. Paper forms a part of one of the two ideas that will come to fruition.

Paper Web

Paper Web

Most photos will cover the paper, this time the paper will cover the photos. Paper relates to trees and nature. We can make paper from different material not just wood pulp, you don’t even need to cut the tree to get the pulp.
The making of the paper by myself did pass by. A trip to the art supply shop followed.

Plant Paper

Plant Paper

It is for sure they have better paper than i will ever been able to make. The touch of the paper must be right, not smooth but rough. Yet, the looks must be plain so not to take away the eye from the photos.

Recycled paper

recycled

Keep in mind the environmental impact of paper. So 4 sheets of paper are here to experiment with to make a final decision.
It all depends how the paper will act with the drop technic i want to use.
The idea came from accidental art, art that just happens but is not planned.

paperkrijtdrop

Letting a drop of water run over paper with pigment and see what comes out.
The next department in de shop was, pigments and well earth pigments.
The roots of the tree stand in earth even touching stones and rocks. Trees need water and water need trees, hence the drop of water.
The earth pigments were used for early art, cave art many might have washed away some stayed.
It will be a new challenge to learn how to make paint from ground sources, it fits better within the picture of Land Art.

paperburnedwood

Charcoal will come in as well, willow charcoal and chalk, Dover chalk.
The next few weeks will be dedicated to messy experiments to get the final image just about right.

The exhibition will not be filled with old photos or material. It will also not picture an image of the Land Art Forest.
Subtle connections will flow through the rhetoric of the exhibition.
Painting and photography have been in a kind of debate, taking opposite visions, here they will come together to form one.

Music will not come into the picture nor film that will only happen in the viewer mind.

i Am a LEAF on the Wind

chaos of the making

which word

i Am a LEAF on the Wind floating escaping seeking direction
inside the millions of Words
Hundreds of rules
Thousands of images
i Am a LEAF on the Wind  realising what trees have been
a selection in the forest value of numbers reselection
i Am a LEAF on the Wind Blown away in thousands
curls, swirls, whirls, spinning Twists as to wonder
Where to land

Chaos in the fallen leaf

falling

i Am a LEAF on the Wind
What to say as things, people, trees, rocks, seeds, birds, bees pass BY
i Am a LEAF on the Wind  rushing to find soil
to enter the world of ground
aWay from air bubbles, rumbling resonant vibration
Right back into that wandering feeling to set the first step into the unknown direction
discovering which way to go while roaming
like a leaf on the wind
finding the moment to fall

overwhelming chaos

do you know that feeling

and go against all odds
figuring things out while moving
as a fall is just The beginning of lost memories of
strength
courage
stamina
intensity
a leaf on the wind is not afraid to fall down
to a new other existent surrounding
to become a nemophilist

chaos inside an image

i must not forget what i did to create the new

The above is not much else than artistic therapy on the moment i feel so overwhelmed by the new project.
Now  a new picture hangs there to remind me
i Am a LEAF on the Wind

It is also a part of showing a more personal struggle that lays behind the Land Art Forest.
Before i had the land and the ideas followed upon it now i have the ideas but not the land.
How to persuade people to join this project, without loosing the artistic approach.
On one side there is the need to be professional according to the rules and perspectives that people have and on the other side lays the forest as art.

seeing chaos

what it should be

In the end
i Am a LEAF on the Wind
ready to fall Down
